Peer Review Policy
Once a manuscript is submitted to Biomedical and Pharmacology Journal (BPJ) it goes through initial screening for scope and quality checks. The article which passes the initial checks are sent for peer review. Review process is an important aspect of the publication process of an article. It helps an editor in deciding on an article and also enables the author to improve the manuscript.
BPJ follows a double-blind review process.
Reviewers are assigned based on their subject expertise keeping the ethical concerns in mind. The peer review process usually takes 4-5 weeks.
Reviewers make one of the following recommendations:
- Accept unconditionally
Accept, with or without editorial revisions. - Accept conditionally
Invite the authors to revise their manuscript to address specific concerns before a final decision is reached. - Reject in current form
Reject, but indicate to the authors that further work might justify a re-submission. - Reject outright
Reject outright, typically on grounds of specialist interest, lack of novelty, insufficient conceptual advance or major technical and/or interpretational problems.
The Final decision to accept or reject the article after review revisions lies with the Editor In chief and Managing Editors.
A Review Certificate is issued to reviewers after the successful review of the manuscript and a list of reviewers’ names is published upon the issue release.
