Abstract: Nitrogen containing heterocycles are frequently found in privileged pharmacophores. Pyrazolin-5-ones are important nitrogen-containing five-membered heterocyclic compounds and have been found to be associated with a broad spectrum of bioactivities. The present work is directed towards the synthesis of some substituted-3-methyl-2-pyrazolin-5-ones. The synthesis of title compounds was achieved by the reaction of substituted ²-keto ester with substituted thiosemicarbazides and the synthesized compounds were screened for their antibacterial activity.
