Abstract: The present study deals with the synthesis and characteristics of some new substituted acid hydrazones synthesized by the condensation of R- malon anilic acid hydrazides (1a, 1b) with suitable substituted aldehydes and ketone in alcoholic medium. The synthesis was carried out by two different methodologies (classical heating and microwave irradiation) and compare these method of the synthesis in terms of yield, time etc. in this review showing the superiority of “Green technique” by microwave method over the conventional method. The newly synthesized compounds (1a,1b,2d,2e,2f,2h,3b,3c,3h,3j ) have been tested for their antibacterial activity against gram positive bacteria S. aureus and gram negative bacteria E. coli. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by their physical properties, elemental analysis and spectral studies viz: IR, 1H NMR.
